Advertisement Ideas: Why Do Internet TV?

When you visit www.wrpbitv.com you see this photo as I am The Host of The Anything Bucket, which airs at 8:00 PM EST on Wednesday. A question that I am asked now as a host is why do Internet TV? The answer is quite easy because of the trend that more and more people are looking for alternatives to terrestrial TV and turning to the Internet as a source for their entertainment. This year an Internet TV Show, House Of Cards,  has been nominated in 9 categories for The Emmy’s showing that this medium is a great way to help you to maximize your message. My show launched to an audience of 48,000 on August 7, 2013 with 77% being in my immediate market of Broward and Palm Beach County.  Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: Why Do Internet TV??

Advertisement Ideas: Taking Advantage Of Opportunities!!!

Today’s blog post was inspired by The Pet Shop Boys song Opportunities. As I began to listen to the song I understood that it was talking about collaboration. Collaboration is a an excellent way to maximize your message and also reap the benefits of strengthening your brand and increasing your revenue.  When it comes to advertising sharing the expenses with other businesses makes sense as everyone can get their word out and reap the rewards. Let’s take for example that a FULL PAGE AD in La Bonita Kidz and Teenz, www.labonitakidz.com, costs $500 you can find 4 other businesses to split the costs and each business pays $100 and all 5 of you get maximum exposure with your own message and thus making the advertising affordable.  It is finding ways where everyone benefits that you have the most success.

It is through team work that you can lift other people and thus lift yourself. Think about it you have a sub shop and down the block is a movie theatre. You visit and meet with The General manager and offer them discount coupons to your sub shop and in return they give you FREE Movie passes to give to your patrons. This creates a great cross promotion where everyone benefits and in return both businesses increase their exposure and their revenue. The idea is to look for great opportunities to create abuzz in the marketplace that will benefit everyone involved. The opportunities are endless when you begin to get creative and proactive. Ask yourself what have I passed up in my advertising and marketing as I made excuses to not take advantage of the opportunity. Think of what could have happened had you invested in an offer to pay $140 + tax to La Bonita Kidz and Teenz for a 1/4 page ad and a write up to appear in the magazine and reach 5000 mothers of middle school and high school aged students. You could have leveraged the write-up to build credibility and create interest in your product or services. When making an advertising decision ask yourself what does a client/customer represent to me? Think how many new customers/clients do you need to justify the investment in advertising?  Make sure the advertising is hitting your target audience, do not get fooled by circulation/distribution numbers. There was a local pre-school who decided to get caught up in numbers and bought an ad for $1000 in a publication that is distributed to 50,000 residents not realizing that 42,000 were being delivered to over 55 years of age communities, not exactly his target audience. When making the decision to promote or advertise make sure that the avenue you choose reaches your target audience. Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: Taking Advantage Of Opportunities!!!!

Advertisement Ideas: Why A Full Page?

Advertisement Ideas: Why A Full Page?

As an ad executive and marketing consultant with La Bonita Kidz and Teenz Magazine, www.labonitakidz.com. I am often asked why a full-page. My answer is always because it gives you an opportunity to tell your story because facts will tell but stories sell. The second answer I give is because it allows you an opportunity to section the page  off and promote many things about your business. My third answer is because for $500 + tax you are getting maximum exposure in the market place over a 3 month period of time as we are a quarterly magazine. Mr./ Mrs. Business Owner It Is Time To Wake The F UP!!!

I can not tell you how many times I wanted to yell into the phone this week “Wake The F Up”, as I encountered many business people who just don’t seem to understand that everyone calling your business is a potential customer or may know someone who can use their product or services. In one instance I called Myotis Salon and Boutique at 9:30 AM and the gentleman answered the phone I introduced my self asking if I could speak to the person that handles the marketing and community outreach and was told you selling advertising I open at 11 AM you call back then. I found this to be strange as I know from my experiences the best time to discuss advertising and marketing is when you are not open so you can devote your time and attention to the conversation and be fully engaged. Think about it had the gentleman been open to receive or polite he would not be in this blog being used as a bad example of conducting business. He could have said sir I would like to speak with you however I am involved with a another project right now please call me after 11 AM. Remember it is not what you say but how you say it. I ask you do you think I am going to recommend his services to my female colleagues who could benefit from his services. Advertisement Ideas:Your Business Doesn’t Have To Be Slow!

As I sell advertising for La Bonita Kidz and Teenz, www.labonitakidz.com, I hear over and over my business is slow I can’t advertise right now.  I always think why is your business slow? The answer is simple because you are not advertising and you are missing opportunities. I also think the reason your business is slow is you are shutting out ideas because of your programmed response of I am not interested. By not being interested in opportunities and not advertising your business remains slow.  The reality is that your business doesn’t have to be slow. You have the power to drive traffic by being creative and proactive. I have covered this in this blog on several occasions and those who have used some of the ideas have shown a spike in their business.

Having an awareness as to what is happening in the marketplace will help you to increase your business. Ask yourself what pain do I take away? After you answer this question then you can come up with a plan of action to promote yourself effectively and create a desire for your products or services.  This month baseball season started and I began to think how can one capitalize on the fact that people are going to be following their favorite team for 162 games and how can I use this to my advantage? The answer was to promote things like Pitch Like An All Star, where I teach people how to improve their copy writing and presentation skills. Or Hit a Home Run With Your Publicity, where I teach people how to secure free publicity through effective media relations.  By incorporating the baseball theme you create something that is relevant, entertaining, and resonates with your desired target audience. Advertisement Ideas: It’s All About Connections

When one thinks of advertising they generally think newspaper, magazine, radio, or TV and they forget about one of the most intgral part of promoting their business and that is getting in front of people and making connections. As I attended Jacqueline JLOVE Jackson’s Book launch for The 7 Soul Seeds on 2/9/13 I was speaking to someone I had met before, Michael Rosenfeld of True Success Coaching, and by listening and and being attenitive he gave me a contact for my voice over work. As I left the event I thought all the way home that it is all about connections.

What JLOVE and Michael taught me was that inorder to be successful in your business you must get out in the community and begin to make connections and be of service and value to those connections. They also taught me that when you are of service and value to others you will attract the business and the people that resonate with your message. JLOVE is creating a movement that will empower and inspire woman to reach their full potential as she is seeking sponsors to purchase her book and have the book donated to several woman shelters. You can visit www.7soulseeds.com to participate in this program. One key element to remember when doing public relations is that it is not a sometime thing it is an everytime thing. This means that everything you do in your business or with your non-profit should encompass some public relations aspect. There are many steps to navigate the public  relations maze:

1: Know the message you want to deliver- What is your objective in promoting and giving information?

For example if your purpose of your message is to drive more people to your web site you want to give people a reason to go to your website.
