Advertisement Ideas: How To Be A Sales Machine!!!

Since a young age I have honed a gift that allows me to excel at sales. People ask me all the time JDOGG how do you continue to generate sales in any position that you have held? The answer is simple know your products and ask potential customers questions. I currently work as the memorabilia manager at Sinbad Sports located at 2164 S. University Drive in Davie, FL. I have told the General Manager and The Owner that if you bring me the people I can sell them the merchandise we have. Such was the case yesterday (7/9/2016) when I generated $633.51 in sales.  I was fortunate that 2 customers came in and wanted some high ticketed items like the Odell Beckham Signed Football and a Jarvis Landry Signed Football. Others cam into browse and I was able to turn them from browsers into buyers simple by showing the items. There was one family that probably had no intention of buying anything but when I interacted with their child and showed her some of the toys we had the mom asked her what she wanted and she said the Hot Wheels Loop the mom asked me how much and I said $9.99 but I will give you a 25% discount. Guess what a sale was made. In working with the customer and showing them merchandise I was able to make sales. I didn’t reach my goal of selling $1000 but had one of the better Saturdays in the store since it opened on April 29, 2016. The key to having sales is driving traffic and giving the customer what they want and not getting upset if they leave without buying anything for a no today is not a no forever.  Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: How To Be A Sales Machine!!!!

Advertisement Ideas:Is Your Brand Memorable?

When one sees this logo they immediately know it is Mercedes-Benz and it represents quality and class. I for one have stated that when I amass enough money to get one I will not buy one but instead I will buy a practical vehicle and donate the difference to charities for after all you can not take the Mercedes with you when GOD decides to call you home. I use Mercedes-Benz as an illustration as to how important the idea of having a memorable brand is. Think about it there are certain brands that have stood the test of time by making sure they were in the consumers face on a daily basis with a consistent message.  Ask yourself if you are creating a memorable brand?

Advertisement Ideas: Some Memorable Brands!!!

When you ask most people about hamburgers they will mention one of these three as these have become the top 3 recognizable fast food restaurants in the world. Much of this is due to extensive marketing to drive people to these businesses because of the perceived value despite the fact that their food can kill you. I personally prefer Five Guys which does a good job with the use of testimonials in their restaurants. Five Guys is also not the most healthy choice but it is better that the three recognizable brands here.

Another thing that makes Five Guys memorable is the fact that they have differentiated themselves in the market place by  creating an image that people have come to know that represents quality and good service. If you were to open up a hamburger place ask yourself how would I create a memorable brand? the answer is simple by flooding the market place with literature about the restaurant and giving the consumer a reason to come and buy your burgers. When you are creating a memorable brand you must determine your desired target audience, create a marketing program that will put you on top of the consumer’s mind, and you must have something that differentiates you from everyone else in your chosen industry.

These are 3 recognizable people in The Personal Development Field. If you are someone who is into personal development you most likely will be able to identify them. They have all created their own identity and have enticed many people to follow their teachings. They share a few things in common they have used strategic promotion to garner interest, they have become their own brand, they taped into their passion and found a way to monetize their passion and create a message that is relevant, entertaining, and resonating with their desired audience. When asked who their target demographic was they were able to give a precise answer this is important to know because you are not going to attract everyone. They also have surrounded themselves with a team of people to handle their marketing and public relations. They have built billion dollar businesses by having a plan and working their plan and never giving up. Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: Is Your Brand Memorable?

Advertisement Ideas: Doing It and Doing It Well!!!

Have you ever noticed how doing business is much like satisfying a partner while making love. If you don’t hit the right spot and pay attention to your lover’s needs and desires while making love that lover may go elsewhere. It is the same in business if you don’t know what your customer/clients needs or desires are and you do not satisfy them they will go elsewhere. The key is know what you are doing and to do it well. In business like in turning on your lover you have to advertise in the love making game it might mean dressing sexy or playing some soft music to get in the mood to entice your lover. It is the same in business you must advertise to entice the consumer/client and get them to do business with you. Look at the ways you are marketing and how you are reaching your customers/clients.  The process starts with knowing who to pursue and how to court the people that you desire to have as clients/customers, then creating a brand so when people hear the brand or see the logo it is easily accessible, then you must do things to create a buzz.

If you were to show this picture to 10 people I believe 7 would know who it is. Despite his perceived arrogance the man in the picture has built a reputation as a great ball player and a savvy business man.

If I showed this photo to 10 people I can almost guarantee that 9 people would know who this soulful singer is.  Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: Doing It and Doing It Well!!!

Advertisement Ideas: Get It Up!!!

Advertisement Ideas: Get It Up!!!

Some of the best advertising ideas and  marketing lessons that I have learned have come from a desire to raise the fundraising thermometer for Relay For Life. I have coined the phrase Get It Up as a way to increase donations. The phrase normally conjures up so interesting looks when one says will you help us to get it up and pause and then say our fundraising thermometer that is. The lesson learned here that translates into business is to grab the audience’s attention and then explain what you are doing.

Another important lesson that I have learned through Relay For Life is that you must cultivate and nurture people so as to get the fundraising thermometer up. This applies in business as you work to build your brand and to increase your cash flow. If people do not see your logo on a consistent basis they will most likely support your competitor who has his logo everywhere. Think about where you are advertising, what you are advertising, and how you are advertising. I find it hard to believe that after 30 years as fundraising project there are still people who haven’t heard about Relay For Life when there have been massive initiatives to build The Relay Brand. The lesson here is that you need to be out in the community constantly building brand awareness because there will be people who will not hear about you. I have learned you can wear your brand but if you do not share it people will not know who you are or what you do so it is important to have a strategy where you are doing brand awareness on a daily basis. The one thing I learned through my involvement in Relay that correlates to business is to share your information by getting out of the office and meeting people. Get out there and engage people. Remember the worst thing will be they will tell you they aren’t interested. It the get it up philosophy you it is important to check the fear of talking to people and what they might think at the door. I have learned that not everyone will resonate with your message but it is important to continue to share the message. Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: Get It Up!!!

Advertisement Ideas: Get Energized!!!

Advertisement Ideas: Get Energized!!!

What is it that excites you? What really turns you on?  I get excited when I can share with businesses opportunities to help them maximize their message. I get energized when I am able to help someone or a business to excel.  I also get energized when someone or a business is interested in helping me with my mission to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. I get really excited when I visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2 and see that someone has made a donation to help people touched by cancer through research, education, advocacy, and services. I get energized when I can use my GOD given talents to help people excel.  In business it is important to be energized because when you are vibrating at a high positive energy level you attract the people that can help you build and grow your business. look at how you are approaching your day and monitor your thoughts through out the day and see where you are having success and where you are having challenges? Are you so worried about being right instead of doing the right thing that you are sucking energy out of your business and thus leaving money on the table.

If you are not enthusiastic about who yo are and what you do people will not support you be it a business endeavor or a charitable endeavor. Ask yourself how am I approaching the tasks in my business and in my professional life? The old adage of how you do anything is how you do everything is true. If you are angry because you have to work and you have to spend money on advertising this will reflect in your business and personal life and thus hurt your business. Instead of saying I have to advertise say I get to advertise and by advertising I am building my brand and thus increasing my cash flow over time. If you are passionate about what you are doing people will see that and be more apt to do business with you. Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: Get Energized!!!

Advertisement Ideas: Lessons Learned From Relay For Life!!!

As I watched this video of one of my Relay Idols, Jeff Ross, A member  of The American Cancer Society Relay For Life Hall Of Fame. Jeff’s lessons from this presentation can carry over to almost any business model when it comes to marketing and delivering your message.  The key is to be consistent with your message. Jeff’s passion for The Relay For Life teaches us that if we are to attract and keep clients/customers we must be passionate and consistent. We also learn that having a team that can lift you and promote you will help you to succeed in business.

Relay for Life teaches us the importance of planning, implementing and evaluating a project so that we can grow our business. Relay shows us the importance of advertising as with put promotion and advertising people do not find us and if people do not know about you and how to do business with you they will go elsewhere. Relay teaches us about brand recognition, now that I have been involved in Relay for Life for over 15 years I can spot that logo a mile away.  Relay teaches us how important it is to make our customers happy and why we need to turn our customers into advocates.  We learn that when we deliver what we promise and give people a reason to engage with us that we increase the chance of them becoming a customer. Relay teaches us to overcome excuses as many people will tell you why they don’t want to be involved or why they do not want to make a donation this is like someone making excises why not to do business with you.  Relay teaches us how to use the logo so it is used in a way that gives people a good feeling so that they will want to do business with us. Relay teaches us the importance of knowing your target audience so as to effectively market to them. The way you attract a 21-year-old is different from the way you attract a 75-year-old. Each demographic that you seek has a different way that they will resonate with you. Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: Lessons Learned From Relay For Life!!!

Advertisement Ideas: Are You F-ing Kidding Me!!!

My phone rings today(11/10/14) and it is a woman I haven’t heard from in a while asking me about my availability for Sunday (11/16/14) as I told her I wasn’t available as I was announcing a basketball game that day I felt like saying are you f-ing kidding me.  Here she was calling me  6 days before an event expecting me to be available. Then I when I told her in the future to give me more notice  she said that is okay you emcees are a dime a dozen. Again I wanted to ask her are you f-ing kidding me.  I am very good at what I do and I command top dollar. She asked if I would do events for what I used to charge her, which was $100. I said no as my rate for a three hour show  is $300. She said we don’t pay anyone that amount of money. I told her thank you, which started a whole debate about the way I work. I told her you called me and I don’t think we will be a good fit as when I emcee I like to speak to the vendors and hand them my cards and you don’t allow this.  Eventually we ended the conversation and as I hung up the phone I kept thinking are you f-ing kidding me.  People if you want a good talent expect to pay them a decent fee.  Another thing don’t call someone 6 days ahead of an event and expect them to be available.  The reason why you may be stuck in the place where you are is because of your lack of planning.  This relates to your advertising and marketing strategy as well don’t wait until the last minute to promote something create a plan and work the plan and you will see better results. 72a1b8d9fc4c09e0d7deb4a7c996668c.jpg As I sit at my desk at WRPBiTV, where I host a TV Show, The Anything Bucket, which airs on www.wrpbitv.com on Tuesday at 6:30 PM EDT I begin to reflect on where I was 13 years ago (9/11/2001) when I saw the news of the terrorist attacks. These attacks galvanized our nation and brought people together from all walks of life.  As I reflected on the events of that day I begin to think what if a business could make that indelible mark on the audience that they seek to attract?  Budweiser made a tribute ad that aired once during The Superbowl that created a buzz as it evoked many emotions and touched the heart of the viewer.
This commercial epitomizes what every advertising campaign should have.

An effective deliberate message.

A connection to the audience.

Proper brand placement. Continue reading Advertisement Ideas: We Will Never Forget!!!!

Advertisement Ideas: Do They Know Who You Are?

Advertisement Ideas: Do They Know Who You Are?

Can you identify these 3?  Why is that? The answer is because they have kept a high-profile and become noticeable figures in the media.  Some exude a positive  while others are seen in a negative image. The key is that many people know who they are which leads to the question do those you are seeking to do business with know who you are and what you do?  The idea is to build recognition in your industry and amongst your target audience so that when someone sees your photo or your logo they will immediately think of you and connect with you to use your products and services. The question is what are you doing to get yourself known?

This logo is perhaps the most recognizable logo in the world. Would you believe that at one time the company was on the brink of bankruptcy. Then Phil Knight came to the rescue with a strategic marketing plan and a whole lot of venture capital along with the willingness to take risks that others would not. Phil Knight signed Michael Jordan and the company began making The Air Jordan Sneakers. The company put a lot of money into the campaign and it began to pay large dividends as Air Jordan Sneakers quickly became a high demand sneaker. Even today when a new Air Jordan is released it sells in mass quantities. After Jordan the company began to sign more and more athletes to represent it. In 2013 this company had 47% of the global market.  Now you may be thinking but I don’t have the budget that this company has. You do not need a budget the size of this company to get people to know you all you have to do is find ways to be creative and proactive ways to get recognized.
